ALL BLACK
Turn over any rock on most rivers and there will be lots of small black stuff crawling around. Black flies are a critical component in any fly box. Tied on a Tiemco 2457 super strong curved nymph hook with a wide gape. Curved wide gape hooks give you a better hook set.

BIG T CADDIS
The Big T, named after the Mighty Tongariro River on the Central Plateau of the North Island of New Zealand where it has proved to be very effective in low clear conditions. This generic Green Caddis pattern has earnt its place in the fly box.

CONSULTANT U.V PINK
The first person to hook a fish on this fly was legendary intrepid angler Gretchen from Colorado. We have now been fishing together for two weeks every year for over 15 years.
The fish promptly after being hooked swam around a log. Gretchen looked at me and said “This is a code Red Situation” and there the fly was named.

CODE RED
For years I have been trailing small Ant dry flies behind a larger dry to sipping fish. This pattern started life as a foam dry ant. At times the ant did not float too well and I was amazed at how often fish would eat it after it had sunk. So he we have the sinking version the Crucial Ant.
